Israeli Lasso Security Joins NetApp Excellerator’s New Startup Cohort

Israeli company Lasso Security is among five startups selected for the fifteenth cohort of NetApp Excellerator, according to an October 16 report by Express Computer. The selection gives the artificial intelligence security company a route to technical mentoring and potential enterprise testing within a program focused on emerging data technologies.

Five Companies With Different Technical Roles

Express Computer reported that the cohort includes companies from Israel, India and the United States. Alongside Lasso Security are LightSprint AI, Wald.ai, Cogover and QUIPU AI. Their products span software engineering, protection of data used with AI, workflow automation and systems that organize enterprise context for AI applications.

The mix places security beside the infrastructure and business processes it needs to protect. It does not make the five companies a single product team or establish that their systems have already been integrated with one another.

According to the report, Cogover and QUIPU AI also participate in ExcellerateHER, the program’s initiative for companies founded or led by women. Lasso’s inclusion is separately identified within the overall cohort of five selected startups.

What Lasso Says Its Technology Does

Lasso describes its business as protecting organizational use of large language models and AI agents. Its published product materials discuss controls over prompts, data and actions, aimed at helping organizations define how AI tools may interact with their information and systems.

In a September company announcement, Lasso introduced CPU based guardrails under the LEAP name. The company presents that approach as a way to provide protective controls without requiring graphics processors for that component. This is background to its product strategy, not a new October launch associated with the accelerator selection.

Technical performance claims in company materials remain company claims. Admission to an accelerator is not an independent evaluation of every security capability, nor is it certification that a product prevents every possible misuse of an AI system.

Mentoring Can Lead to Practical Testing

NetApp’s own program description offers access to technical mentors, business guidance and opportunities to develop proofs of concept. The October report also describes potential engagement with internal teams, allowing selected startups to explore how their products fit enterprise requirements.

A proof of concept is a defined test of a proposed use. It can help a startup understand technical integration, customer needs and the evidence required for a larger project. Participation creates an opportunity for that process rather than proving that a commercial deployment has already followed.

The distinction matters for this announcement: selection is confirmed in the cohort report, while any subsequent customer contract, deployment or investment would be a separate development. None should be inferred simply from the accelerator relationship.

An Israeli Company in an International Program

Lasso’s company announcements identify its presence in Tel Aviv and New York. The new cohort connects that Israeli security business with a program assembling companies around enterprise data and AI, areas in which product compatibility and customer requirements are central to adoption.

The immediate milestone is entry into the selected group. Future progress would be reflected in completed testing, product refinement and separately announced business outcomes. Those are the next stages to watch as the mentoring relationship develops.

For Israel’s technology sector, the story is a concrete international connection for an AI security company. Its significance lies in access to expertise and potential enterprise feedback, with the eventual results determined by the work that follows selection.
