Yehudit light rail station is the venue for a new stage of The Last Photo, a remembrance project developed with Israel Hayom and OneFamily. Its first exhibition in a public space has opened there with a collection of 22 photographs selected by the families of those pictured.
The display is part of the commemoration of the third anniversary of October 7. The opening announcement describes its subjects as the heroes and heroines of the Swords of Iron war, represented through images from their final moments.
An initiative that began before Memorial Day 2025
Liron Ben Yaakov initiated The Last Photo ahead of Israel's Memorial Day in 2025. The newspaper Israel Hayom and the organization OneFamily partnered in the project, whose photographs have circulated on Instagram.
The announcement puts the initiative's accumulated views and shares at more than 10 million. That is a combined measure of online activity, not a figure for distinct viewers or attendance at the station.
The exhibition introduces a physical presentation alongside that digital activity. Its distinction, according to the announcement, is that it is the project's first exhibition in the public realm.
The photographs the families wanted to show
The families' involvement extends to the material on display: they chose the photographs themselves. The collection at Yehudit therefore brings together images selected by the relatives of those being commemorated.
For this presentation, those choices have been assembled inside a light rail station in Greater Tel Aviv. The announcement identifies the location and the size of the collection, but gives no end date or detailed arrangements for access to the display.
Who took part in the inauguration
Joining Ben Yaakov to inaugurate the exhibition were Gilad Riklin, who heads the Egged Group, and Moshe Swil, chief executive of OneFamily. Uri Dagon attended in his capacity as Israel Hayom's deputy editor in-chief.
NTA chief executive Itamar Ben Meir and the company's board chair, Yodfat Afek Arazi, were also present. Amiram Ohayon, chief executive of Tevel Metro, also took part. His company runs the Red Line of the Greater Tel Aviv light rail.
Their participation brought the initiative's partners and representatives of the transport network together at the venue for the public exhibition.
